CrossConnect Neo Debug Probe

The new CrossConnect Neo is our latest ARM debug probe and replaces the existing CrossConnect Classic. It is a JTAG and SWD debug probe for Cortex-A, Cortex-R, Cortex-M, ARM7, ARM9, ARM11 processors and is compatible with CrossWorks for ARM version 3 onwards.

How does the CrossConnect Neo compare with the CrossConnect Classic?

  • CrossConnect Neo has much faster USB, SWD and JTAG interaces so download performance is significantly improved and the debugging experience is more responsive
  • The SWD debug interface is now integrated so a separate SWD adapter is no longer required
  • CrossConnect Neo supports a wider target voltage range
  • SWO tracing is now suppoted when using CrossWorks for ARM version 4.10.3 and above
  • Only CrossWorks for ARM versions 3 and above are supported so CrossConnect Neo cannot be used with CrossWorks for ARM version 1 or 2

Does CrossConnect Neo require a device driver to be installed?

  • Installation of a device driver is only required on x64 and x86 versions of Windows. The device driver is now installed as part of the CrossWorks for ARM installation however the device driver can also be downloaded from here
  • No device driver needs to be installed on macOS, Linux or the arm64 version of Windows
