Local Attractions

The area around Dursley has lots to offer if you have time when visiting us. A 20-minute car ride from Dursley will see you arrive at any one of the following attractions.

  • Sir Peter Scott's Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Centre is a great place to visit if you have the time and are interested in wildfowl.
  • Westonbirt Arboretum is the largest arboretum in Europe and is superb all year round (yes, it is open 365 days a year), but is especially attractive in autumnal colours. It features 18,000 trees and shrubs of 3,600 different types and more than 300,000 visitors pass through its gates each year.
  • Edward Jenner conquered smallpox, founded the science of Immunology, and the Jenner Museum celebrates this great scientist.
  • Berkeley Castle is one of finest Norman castles in existence.
